Cutting funding for Sesame Street

I was reading this morning that the government was discussing cutting funds for public broadcasting and that it would impact shows such as Sesame Street. Sorry I agree with them 100%, if we have to make cuts, public broadcasting isn't a necessity. Besides, I don't know if you have noticed all the Sesame Street products on the market, surely they must be making a good chunk of change on liscening fees alone, that show at least could be sustainable on the profits from those alone. They were also saying that these shows provide invaluable instruction to children that cannot go to preschool, I disagree on that point, there a programs in place now that provide assistance for those wanting to go, its called a public school system and they do place children in preschool. I don't want to be too preachy but alot of what is said is misleading on these programs depending on which side of the issue you are on and it requires a little common sense to get beyond all the nonesense.
