Was reading this idea about the new trend of totally pitch black restaurants with blind waiters. First of all, if the waiter is indeed blind, and there are several definitions of blindness, you can partially blind in one eye or the other, legally blind, with some eyesight still intact, peripherally blind, with vision impairment in your side vision etc... why in the world would it matter to you if the restaurant was dark or not, technically you could function if you were trained to. If you are the diner, on the other hand, I don't believe eating something that you cannot see at all will enhance your culinary experience at all. What it will do is ensure that you will leave with food all over your clothing and lots of spilled drinks. Silly! It's another case of people blindly (excuse the pun) following another momentary trend because someone tells them that it is cool.
